Redesign Project

Designed an engaging pet adoption experience with improved navigation and integrated donation workflows.

Problem Statement

The existing Wayside Waifs website was outdated, difficult to navigate, and not mobile-friendly, resulting in a poor user experience for prospective adopters, donors, and volunteers. The site lacked clear pathways for adoption searches, event information, and online giving, ultimately hindering the organization’s mission to increase pet adoptions and community engagement.

Role: Lead Web Designer

Research & Discovery

  • Redesigned the Adoption Experience
Rebuilt the pet search and adoption interface with real-time filters, larger pet photos, and simplified CTAs to streamline the adoption journey and reduce user friction.

  • Implemented Mobile-First Responsive Design
Converted the legacy layout into a fully responsive design using custom wordpress theme enhanced with HTML5/CSS3 to ensure seamless performance across devices, especially smartphones and tablets.

  • Integrated Donation and Event Modules
Developed custom modules for online donations and event registration using accessible forms and a user-centric layout, leading to increased community participation and fundraising conversions.

Product Redesign

Developed a multilingual, responsive site for veterinarians and pet owners with product education tools.

Problem Statement

The Bravecto product website lacked intuitive navigation, visual clarity, and mobile optimization, which limited its effectiveness in educating pet owners and veterinarians about flea and tick prevention. The site also failed to deliver a seamless product comparison or call-to-action experience, resulting in lower engagement and diminished brand trust among users seeking reliable, veterinary-backed solutions.

Role: Lead Web Designer

  • Rebuilt UI with Clear Product Hierarchy
Streamlined the information architecture to organize Bravecto’s product line by species, dosage, and treatment type, improving access to essential data for both pet owners and veterinary professionals.

  • Enhanced Mobile UX and Performance
Leveraged responsive design frameworks and media optimization techniques to ensure fast load times and frictionless navigation on mobile devices, where a growing share of traffic originated.

  • Integrated Interactive Tools and CTAs
Developed a dosage calculator and “Find a Vet” locator using JavaScript and API connections, increasing visitor interaction and driving measurable conversion actions aligned with campaign KPIs.

Website Redesign

Crafted a vibrant and user-friendly tourism hub with dynamic content modules to boost city engagement.

Problem Statement

Visit Wichita’s previous website struggled to inspire and retain visitors due to a cluttered interface, inconsistent branding, and limited flexibility for showcasing events, attractions, and seasonal content. The site lacked mobile responsiveness, efficient content management, and performance optimization—ultimately failing to effectively support tourism growth or local business promotion.

Role: Lead Web Designer

I led workshops and design sessions with stakeholders to understand current workflow pain points.

  • Implemented Dynamic Content Modules
Built reusable, CMS-driven components that empowered the marketing team to easily update pages with events, itineraries, and featured destinations—keeping the site fresh and engaging.

  • Optimized Mobile and Accessibility Standards
Redesigned the site using responsive best practices and WCAG accessibility guidelines, ensuring all users—including those on mobile or with disabilities—could access and enjoy the site.

  • Enhanced Performance and SEO Structure
Refactored front-end codebase for faster load times and implemented semantic HTML and metadata improvements to boost search visibility and support regional tourism campaigns.

Redesign Project

Website redesign and created compliant, high-traffic landing pages that aligned with state guidelines. Modernizing the ability to check winning numbers from the various lottery draws.

Problem Statement

The Kansas Lottery’s legacy website was difficult to navigate, visually outdated, and lacked the dynamic capabilities needed to deliver up-to-date game results, winning numbers, and promotional content. It offered limited backend flexibility, making it hard for content managers to update jackpot information or highlight new campaigns in real time. The site required a complete redesign to modernize the user experience, meet state compliance, and integrate with various live data sources within a secure, scalable CMS environment.

Role: Lead Web Designer

  • Built Custom Modules in Umbraco CMS
Developed reusable content blocks and custom data types in Umbraco to allow editors to easily manage scratcher games, draw results, and jackpot updates without needing developer intervention.

  • Integrated Real-Time Lottery Data Feeds
Connected the site to external APIs and internal data services to dynamically display live winning numbers, jackpot totals, and draw schedules on homepage and results pages.

  • Designed Responsive Layout with ADA Compliance
Used a mobile-first approach with attention to WCAG accessibility standards, ensuring legal compliance and inclusive access across all devices.

  • Structured Content for SEO & Cross-Linking
Built smart content relationships within Umbraco—linking promotions, games, and retailer info—to improve internal linking, user pathways, and organic search visibility.

  • Implemented Role-Based Content Workflows
Configured user roles within Umbraco to support the state’s governance policies, allowing secure content approval workflows for editors, compliance officers, and web admins.
